The obvious way to build a privacy tool would be: click a point, cut a circle around exactly that point. It works, but it leaks the one thing you were trying to hide. Anyone who can see the redacted zone on your shared route now knows your sensitive location sits somewhere inside a circle centered exactly where it actually is, which for a small enough radius is not much better than not redacting it at all.
So this tool does what Strava's own privacy zones do: your click sets the general area, but the actual redaction center is a random point up to 100 meters away from it, and everything within 200 meters of that random point gets removed. Since 100 plus 200 always covers your original click no matter which direction the random offset lands, the sensitive spot is guaranteed to be inside the redacted zone every time, but the zone shown could be centered anywhere in a good-sized area around it. There's no way to work backward from the redaction to the exact point you were protecting.
Click as many locations as you need, undo the last one if you misclick, or clear everything and start over. Each click is independent, so a route that passes close to home at both the start and a turnaround point can have both redacted separately.

If the tool redacted precisely the point you clicked, anyone looking at the redacted zone on your shared route could work backward and find that exact spot. Instead, a random point within 100 meters of your click becomes the actual center of a 200 meter redaction, guaranteeing your click is always covered while making the true location impossible to pin down from the result. This is the same technique Strava's own privacy zones use.
