Two laps under the skyline, the long stretch out to Höchst, and then Mainzer Landstraße pointing you straight back at the Messeturm. The last few metres are indoors, on a red carpet, with the Festhalle roaring. Put the route you ran on your wall, with your name and your finish time.

Watch the course trace itself across the city: the knot of loops around the Alte Oper, the run along the Main, the hairpin at the Schwanheimer Brücke and the long straight home. Then a name and a time go on, and you flick through map styles, line colors and fonts until it looks like your race.
The route
Frankfurt's course is one big loop on both banks of the Main with a tangle of city laps at the start. On a poster that gives it a shape nobody mistakes for another race: a dense knot in the centre and a long, thin arm reaching west to Höchst.
Km 0
The gun goes at 10:00 next to the exhibition grounds, with the Messeturm looking down on the wave starts.
Km 1 to 13
The first third stays in the city: under the towers on Mainzer Landstraße, up Bockenheimer Landstraße to the Opernplatz, a turn north on Reuterweg and Eschenheimer Landstraße, then Bleichstraße and Kurt-Schumacher-Straße down to the river. This is the part of the poster that looks like a knot.
Km 13 to 19
Across the Main, along the Schaumainkai, then down Kennedyallee past the university hospital and west through Niederrad.
Km 20 to 28
Halfway falls near the river in Goldstein. A loop under the bridge brings you up and across, then old Höchst with its cobbles and the turn at the western tip of the course.
Km 29 to 36
The kilometres most runners remember least fondly: long, straight and slightly uphill in the head, if not on the map. The skyline slowly grows in front of you, then the course cuts through the Europaviertel.
Km 37 to 42.2
Back through the Bankenviertel and past the Alte Oper a second time, down to the Messe and into the hall. You finish about 60 metres inside, on the red carpet, under the lights.
The preloaded course in our editor is traced from the organiser's official course map. Ran it with a watch? Load your own file and the poster shows your line, tangents and all.

They will get a medal and a foil blanket like everyone else. A poster of their own route with their name and the time they ran is the thing that ends up framed in the hallway. It works for a first marathon and for the PB they finally got on that flat course.
“I really enjoyed using the mapping tools on MyAdventureMaps to create a canvas to remember my favorite race experience of 2026. It was so easy to use and the company was very responsive to my special requests and feedback. A really amazing value also! Strong recommend for commemorating your next special event.”

The race
The 2026 race is the 43rd edition. Late October usually means cool air, and the course climbs only 27.8 metres from its lowest to its highest point. That combination is why so many people come here chasing a personal best, and why the elite results are as quick as they are.

Last year was windy. Belay Asfaw and Buze Diriba won in 2:06:16 and 2:19:34, with a record of about 17,000 entries on the start list. Whatever the weather does on 25 October, your own time is the one that goes on the poster.

Only if you want it to. The text lines are yours to fill in, so you can write 42.195 km, your watch distance, or leave the distance off. Between the tall buildings in the Bankenviertel almost every GPS watch drifts a bit, which is also why your own trace can look slightly wobbly in the city section. Both the official course and your own file work in the editor.
Yes. The time is a text field, so type whatever the official results say. With wave starts on Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage your gun time and net time can be several minutes apart, and most runners pick the net time.
Upload the activity from your own watch and the poster shows just your leg. If the whole team wants one poster, each runner can add their file and you give every leg its own color. Send us a message if you get stuck and we will help set it up.
Yes, and shipping is free. Posters are printed locally, wherever you are, and prices are in euros including VAT. The editor and checkout are in English.
