Personal Strava heatmap poster as a gift for runners and cyclists
The perfect Strava gift

A Strava mockup that shows everything.

The official Strava heatmap shows everyone's data combined. This is different. Your personal heatmap poster shows only your activities, on a map centered on your city, your routes, your story. The streets you run every morning are the brightest. The trails you only found last year glow a little softer. A personal heatmap is not just a map. It is a record of every session, every commute, and every adventure you bothered to record. It works as a gift for runners, cyclists, and triathletes alike.

  • Connect Strava and import all your historical activities at once
  • Every run, ride, hike, and swim appears on a single map
  • Hotter colors where you train most, cooler where you ventured less
  • Works for any city or region in the world
  • Don't have their Strava login? If you can open the activity on their profile, export the GPX straight from that page. Details in our gift guide

“Connected my Strava and saw 4 years of running appear on my hometown map. Ordered a print the same day. Looks stunning on the wall.”

The Heatmap

Why a personal Strava heatmap is worth printing.

The Strava mockup everyone wants is not the generic one. It is the one with only your data, centered on your neighborhood, showing the years you put in. A personal heatmap poster captures that. The detail only increases the longer you have been recording. Five years of Strava data produces something that looks genuinely artistic. Every bright line is a route you chose to run or ride.

Common questions about this design

Does the heatmap have to include every activity I've ever recorded?

Not unless you want it to. You can pull in your entire Strava history, just running, just cycling, or any mix of activity types you choose. Some people build it around years of training, others just pick one summer or one season. It's your call how much time the map covers.

Solid color or colored by pace and elevation, what works on a heatmap?

With hundreds of routes stacked on top of each other, a plain color usually reads best, since it keeps the overall shape of your activity map the main focus instead of competing with itself. Data coloring works better on maps built from fewer, longer routes, where you can still trace individual lines and see where pace or elevation changed.

What can I actually customize on a heatmap poster?

The map background, the color and thickness of the lines, and how wide a date range gets pulled in, whether that's three months or five years of history. Title, subtitle, and any stats you want printed underneath are all editable text fields. If you and someone else want both your histories combined, Together Mode merges two accounts onto one map.

Do I need a Strava account, or can I upload files directly?

Strava makes it fastest since we can pull your activities in bulk, but it isn't required. GPX, TCX, and FIT files from Garmin, Suunto, Coros, or any other tracking app work just as well, so if you've switched platforms over the years or just prefer not to connect Strava, you can still build the same heatmap by uploading files one by one.
