A GPS signal drop, a low battery forcing a restart, or a watch that simply auto-pauses and starts a new file after a long stop can turn one continuous ride, hike or paddle into two or three separate exports. That's a problem the moment you want a single poster or a single training-log entry for what was, in reality, one trip. This tool reads every file you drop in, whatever mix of GPX, TCX and FIT they happen to be, and stitches their points back into one track, sorted by timestamp so the order comes out right even if you didn't upload the files in sequence.
It's built for reconnecting pieces of the same activity, not for combining unrelated days into a single fake one. If what you actually want is several different days shown together on the same poster, each in its own color, the map editor's own multi-file upload already does exactly that with a "Segment" coloring mode built for it, no merging required.
FAQ
Watches sometimes split a single ride or hike into separate files, an auto-pause or a restart after fixing GPS can do it too. Merging stitches those pieces back into one continuous activity, which most poster tools and training platforms expect as a single file.
Yes. Each file is read into the same common track data first, so a GPX, a TCX and a FIT file can all go into the same merge, and the combined result downloads in whichever single format you choose.
By timestamp, automatically, as long as every file has recorded times, which almost all GPS activity files do. You don't need to upload them in the right order yourself.
Technically yes, the tool will still stitch and sort them by timestamp, but it's built for connecting parts of the same activity, like a multi-day tour or a ride that got split by your device. For genuinely separate days on one poster, our map editor's own multi-file upload with per-day coloring is usually a better fit.
No hard limit, it runs on your device's own memory rather than a server. A handful of files, even multi-hour activities, merge in well under a second.
Once your files are merged into one activity, it works directly in the map poster editor.
