The Singelloop Utrecht has been run around the city's canal ring for a hundred years, which makes it the oldest street race in the country. Start on the Croeselaan, finish on the Catharijnesingel, and everything in between is yours to keep: pick your distance and the real route opens in the editor, ready for your name and time.

Made in the same editor
This is our own finisher print of the 2026 10K route, built in exactly the editor you'll open from this page. Highlight pins for the Dom, Janskerk, Vredenburg and the Maliebaan, the date in a handwritten font, the line in one bold color. You can copy that look or ignore it completely.
Want your own result on it? Swap the bottom line for your name and finish time, or load your watch file so the poster follows your exact line through the streets instead of the measured course.
“I really enjoyed using the mapping tools on MyAdventureMaps to create a canvas to remember my favorite race experience of 2026. It was so easy to use and the company was very responsive to my special requests and feedback. A really amazing value also! Strong recommend for commemorating your next special event.”

The routes
Both distances leave from the Jan van Foreeststraat on the Croeselaan, right by the Jaarbeurs, and both end on the Catharijnesingel. What happens in between is different enough that each one gets its own preset, so your poster shows the race you actually ran.
A tight lap of the inner city. South along Reviuskade and Da Costakade, across Bleekstraat to Ledig Erf, then north up the eastern canals: Tolsteegsingel, Maliesingel, a short taste of the Maliebaan and Wittevrouwensingel. From there it ducks into the old centre via Nobelstraat and Lange Jansstraat, past Vredenburg, and onto the Catharijnesingel for the finish.
The headline race goes wider. Out via Nicolaas Beetsstraat and Raadwijk, east along Venuslaan and through Park Oosterspoorbaan, then Notebomenlaan, Abstederdijk and Koningslaan to a lap of Wilhelminapark. Back via Julianalaan and Homeruslaan to the Maliesingel, north along Wittevrouwensingel and Weerdsingel, and home past Nieuwekade and Sint-Jacobsstraat to the Catharijnesingel.
A hundred years of it
Nico Munzert started it, on a course of roughly 4.7 km along the canal banks. The race skipped the war years and a stretch in the early 2000s, but kept coming back, and it is still billed as the oldest street race in the Netherlands.
Leonard Komon ran 26:44 here in 2010, a world best for 10 km on the road at the time. The women's course record belongs to Eva Cherono, 31:17 in 2018. Flat Utrecht has always been quick.
For the 100th birthday in 2025 the Singelloop hosted the Dutch 10 km road championship. Nik Lemmink won it in 29:09 after a sprint over the last 50 metres, Jennifer Gulikers took the women's title in 32:33.
This year's race on Sunday 4 October started just above 10 °C with a thin layer of mist over the city. Remyo Tielsema won the 10K in 30:03 and Maxime Kromwijk the women's race in 35:21, both keeping the win inside the province of Utrecht.
After kilometres of brick, water and bridges, the 10K route swings through the city's best-known park. On the poster it's the loop that sticks out on the east side, and most runners recognise it instantly.
Ren tegen Kanker is the event's charity partner, and Run for KiKa brings its own team to both distances. If you ran for one of them, the poster is a nice way to show what all that fundraising was for.

Yes. The two distances follow different routes, so there are two separate presets. The 5K stays close to the canal ring and cuts back through the old centre, while the 10K heads east through Park Oosterspoorbaan and Wilhelminapark before returning along the northern canals.
Either works. The preset is the measured course. Your own GPX or Strava file shows exactly what you ran, including the walk from the start pen and any GPS wobble between the buildings in the centre. Plenty of runners prefer their own trace because it is theirs.
Yes. The title and the lines under the map are free text. Add the date, your club, your start wave or a note about the conditions, whatever you want to remember about the day.
There's no ready-made route for those yet, but you can upload your own GPX file or connect Strava and the editor works exactly the same.
