We respect the privacy of our website visitors and ensure that the personal information you provide to us is treated confidentially.

1. How we process your data (Technical)

Unique to My Adventure Maps is our privacy-first approach:

• Client-side processing: The generation of your map happens locally on your own device (in your browser).
• No storage of activity data: We do not receive or store raw GPX files or login details of your Strava account on our servers.
• The final result: Only when you order, the final visual file (the "print-file") is sent to us to produce your order.

2. What data do we collect?

We only process data that is necessary for the performance of the contract (your order) and optimizing the website:

• Order details: The generated map (image), your name, address, email address, and payment status.
• Communication: If you contact us (by email or WhatsApp), we keep those messages as long as necessary to handle your question.
• Newsletter: Only with your explicit permission do we use your email address for newsletters (maximum 1x per month). You can easily unsubscribe by replying to the newsletter.

3. Sharing with third parties

We do not share more information with third parties than is strictly necessary for the functioning of the site and the delivery of your product:

• Printing shop: We share the print file and your address details with our printing partner (fulfillment) only for the purpose of delivery.
• Payments: Payments are processed via Stripe. We do not see bank or credit card details; these are securely processed by Stripe. Stripe places necessary cookies for fraud prevention.
• Analytics: We use Google Analytics to analyze the use of the website. IP addresses are anonymized as much as possible, and we do not share traceable data with Google.
• Reviews: We use Trustpilot to collect customer reviews.

4. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to make the site work properly (e.g. the shopping cart) and to collect anonymous statistics. You can manage your cookie settings via your browser or via the cookie banner on our site.

5. Retention periods & Security

We temporarily store your print file to guarantee delivery and resolve any service questions (such as damage during transport).

• Much content-related data is sent encrypted.
• We do not store data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless we are legally obliged to keep it longer (such as 7 years for the tax administration).

6. Your Rights (View or delete data)

You have the right to view, correct, or delete your personal data.

• Request for deletion: Do you want us to delete your customer data and the stored print file immediately? Send an email to pieter@myadventuremaps.com and we will take care of it.
• Note: A legal retention obligation applies to invoices; we cannot completely erase these.

Article 7. Governing Law & Liability (Important)

Governing Law: All legal relationships to which My Adventure Maps is a party are exclusively governed by Dutch law.

Jurisdiction: Disputes shall be submitted exclusively to the competent court in the district of Midden-Nederland, the Netherlands.

International Liability (Non-EU Customers): TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MY ADVENTURE MAPS DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES. IN NO EVENT SHALL MY ADVENTURE MAPS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NEVER EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE PRODUCT.
