The TCS Sydney Marathon is an AIMS Gold Label race held each September: 42.195 km that takes you from Milsons Point over the Harbour Bridge, through the CBD, past the Opera House and Circular Quay, along coastal clifftops above Port Jackson, and into The Domain beside the Royal Botanic Garden. Spring conditions: clear skies, dry air, warm but not hot. The harbour at its best.
The race starts at Milsons Point, directly beneath the bridge. The opening kilometres carry you over the arch with the harbour spread out on both sides. Nothing else in marathon running looks quite like it.
The route passes directly in front of the Opera House at Circular Quay before heading south through the CBD. The finish is in The Domain, with the harbour glittering behind the finishers.
